During your visit: There is an absolutely fantastic restaurant about a 30 second walk from Kolossi Cottage called The Cornish Range, also, as you drive into the village there is a hotel called The Old Coastguard Hotel which is about a 5 minute walk from the cottage and also serves excellent food (the Cornish Cream Teas are an absolute must and their lunchtime crab sandwiches are to die for!). From their sub-tropical garden there are fabulous views of St Clements Isle and the staff are lovely. There is an article about The Old Coastguard (which appeared in a national magazine) which I have had laminated and which is kept in the cottage.
The pub in the village is called The Ship Inn and is right on the harbourside (roughly a 3min walk from the cottage), this is a very traditional Cornish pub selling real Cornish ales which you can drink in comfort whilst sitting next to an open log fire.
In the village of Paul, which is just up the hill from Mousehole, you can drive or walk, there is a pub called The Kings Arms which, again, is a very traditional Cornish pub which does nice pub food.
In Newlyn there is another lovely restaurant with great views over Newlyn harbour (lovely when the Christmas lights are on) called The Smugglers, they don't have a web-site but you will see it as you drive thru' Newlyn to the cottage, it’s on the right overlooking the harbour in Newlyn.
A perfect way to spend a Sunday lunchtime is a brisk walk along from Mousehole to Newlyn where you will find The Tolcarne Inn, they have a fabulous menu including a choice of traditional Sunday roasts and they also have a jazz duo on during lunch – a real must-see!
Also in Newlyn, just on the bridge, is an Italian called Pizza Patio, this is a lovely light and airy restaurant which has a very eclectic menu (they also do take-away), there are menus for this restaurant also in the cottage.
In Penzance there is a restaurant called The Abbey which is gorgeous, great food and, in the bar downstairs, television screens set into the walls which show the action in the kitchen upstairs so you can actually see the chefs preparing your food - this restaurant also has fantastic loos!!!!!
